Pitta Massage Oil
$25 - $50
(8 oz., amber plastic bottle)

Choose your "flavor":

Cooling, Calming

Description:

This oil addresses typical Pitta traits like anger, perfectionism, rashes/hives/acne/psoriasis, acid indigestion, redness/inflammation, proneness to infections, diarrhea, overheating, sensitivity to light and headaches.  Fractionated coconut oil is used for its lightness (Pitta doesn't tolerate heavier oils) and because it won't harden at room temperature.   The main essential oils used are those classically indicated for Pitta imbalance:  lavender, peppermint and geranium.  (Pitta Deluxe contains an extravagant blend of rare and costly essential oils:  rose, sandalwood and multani mitti attar
(baked earth distilled into sandalwood).)  This oil is more subtly scented than the others as Pitta types tend to have strong senses of smell.  It's light and herbaceous with the subtle freshness of peppermint.

Ingredients:
Pitta Oil:
Fractionated Coconut/Sunflower Oil Base, Essential Oil Blend including French Lavender, Peppermint and Geranium.

Pitta Deluxe:  Fractionated Coconut/Sunflower Oil Base, Essential Oil Blend including Rose, Sandalwood and Multani Mitti Attar (baked earth distilled into sandalwood).

Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia) is one of the traditional oils used to pacify pitta dosha. It's cooling, calming and uplifting. Calms pitta skin inflammations, irritability and hypertension.  The scent is woody, herby and astringent.

Geranium (Pelargonium capitatum
) also balances, calms and cools.  It's very soothing to the skin.  The scent is herbaceous, green and slightly rosy.
Doshic Effects: VP-K-    Rasa: sweet, astringent    Virya: cooling    Vipak: sweet

Peppermint (Mentha piperata) is refreshing, stimulating and revitalizing.  It's one of the best essential oils for pitta.  It's fresh, strong, grassy and clean.
