Perfumes

KK Ayurveda Perfumes use organic or non-sprayed essential oils and absolutes whenever possible. Only oils and absolutes from ethically harvested plant material are used.

PERFUMES
KK Ayurveda offers the same blends used in the Ayurvedic Dosha Massage Oils in a more concentrated form as perfume oil or spray eau de parfum.  I stock a wide variety of essential oils, attars and absolutes.  From time to time, they will be offered as perfume oils and/or perfume sprays.
If there's a scent you desire, simply ask!

VATA:  grounding, calming, warming
PITTA and PITTA DELUXE:  cooling, soothing, calming
KAPHA:  heating, drying, stimulating

A Word About Natural Perfumery
Most fragrances we smell--from perfumes purchased at upscale department stores to the scent in our dish-washing liquid--are made with synthetics.  Synthetic scents are cheaper to use and offer more uniformity than natural essences and absolutes.  They don't have to take into account variables like rainfall, climate changes, geographical differences, mineral content of the soil, etc.

In synthetic perfumery, a rose is a rose is a rose...it can be duplicated faithfully every time.  In nature, last year's rose oil won't smell exactly like this year's rose oil because natural conditions are ever changing.  By the same token, Bulgarian roses smell different from Turkish roses and Indian roses and Moroccan roses.

Generally, the scent of natural perfumes may not be as long-lasting as synthetics so you may need to apply them more often but they're well worth the re-application.  No laboratory can fully replicate all the constituents that nature puts in its leaves, roots, fruits, resins, woods and flowers.

Another bonus:
when wearing natural perfumes, you'll derive the aromatherapeutic benefit of the essential oils used in that blend.  This is not true for synthetics.  For example, lavender essential oil is calming.  Synthetic lavender is not.
