Sleep -- Herbal Tincture

$15.00
(1 oz., glass bottle with dropper)

Description/Directions:
First off, what's a tincture?  A tincture is an alcoholic extract of plant material.  When you add vanilla extract to your cake or cookie recipe, you're using a tincture.  In this case, the tincture is being used for its medicinal properties and not for its flavor.
Tinctures are useful as they're fast acting and easy to take.  They're portable and stay potent for years.  A tincture is pure plant medicine in a liquid form.

Sleep Tincture is a combination of 4 herbs historically associated with calming the nerves, relieving anxiety and encouraging sleep:
Roman Chamomile (Matricaria recutita), Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) and Hops (Humulus lupulus).  After you've tried the old standbys like meditation, pranayama, yoga nidra (Conscious Relaxation), oiling your scalp and soles of your feet, etc. and you still can't sleep, this tincture may be just the thing you need!

The flavor of herbal extracts can be strong which some people like and others may find difficult at first.  To take this tincture, add 1 or 2 droppersfull to water, juice or warm milk and drink it 30 minutes before bed.  If the taste is unpleasant to you, I recommend putting it in a small amount of room-temperature or slightly warm water and holding a cup of juice or water in the other hand.  Chug the tincture mixture and immediately follow it with your other beverage.  You'll get used to the taste over time!

If you are sensitive to alcohol, add your tincture to boiling water and let it cool for five minutes.  This will burn off most of the alcohol.  A small amount of alcohol--equal to the amount contained in one or two ripe bananas--will remain.  If this is of concern to you, please don't use an alcohol-based tincture.

Do not take this tincture if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Ingredients:  Ethyl Alcohol, Water, Organic Roman Chamomile (Matricaria recutita), Organic Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), Organic Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) and Organic Hops (Humulus lupulus).
